...baptisms in the lake.

I really love seeing the physical signs of God's handiwork - CHANGED LIVES. A couple of weekends ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to follow up 2 full weeks of camp at WorldSong with a weekend of camp at Hargis. As campers were leaving on Friday, I wondered what I had gotten myself into... I'm worn out! There's no way I can endure camp on my OFF TIME! But I did. After driving around for 2 hours (that's a story for another day), I finally reached my destination and knew that I had a blessing in store.

This was our second year to worship at Hargis Retreat with House57 - pretty much the coolest band in the world. (I'm actually wearing their shirt now!)
Just like last year, God showed up and lives were changed. In fact, my life was changed. Here are a few highlights:

1. God's will WILL prevail. For Saturday, the youth ministers had talked with seven different organizations in an attempt to plan out a mission project for the students to do. On the Wednesday before camp, the final possibility fell through. The guys decided to add in another worship service and free time to fill up the alotted time for the nonexistent mission project. In the service, 2 students became Christians. During the free time, the students hung out with kids from Camp Braveheart - a grief camp for kids, ages 7-14, who had lost loved ones within the past year. Our mission project came to us!

2. "...I baptize you with water..." -Matthew 3:11 I got to witness four kids baptized in the lake. Breathtaking experience. I didn't get to stay the entire weekend, but I heard that there were more baptisms on the final day!

3. "Make the most of every opportunity." -Ephesians 5:15 This one will have a blog all its own. Just be patient.

4. God is real. 'Nuff said.
