...conviction.

What would Jesus do?

Would Jesus purchase the things we purchase? Would He eat the things we eat? Would He say half of the things that "slip" out of our mouths? Would He do the things we do on a daily basis? What He do the things we only do once in a while?

Would He raise children the way our nation does?

Would He think of Himself, or of others?

How would Jesus speak of the Casey Anthony trial? What would Jesus think of the verdict?

How would Jesus run a business? Would He withhold any pay from His employees? If Jesus were your coworker, how would He work? What kind of work ethic would He display? What kind of respect for your boss would He have? When would He speak up, and when would He be quiet?

Would Jesus hang out with your friends? Would He do the things they do? What about the people you avoid - would He be their friend?

Would Jesus be a member of your church, or would He be looking for another one? Would He put His children in the same programs you put yours in? Would He nominate the same deacons that you do? Would Jesus sit like a bump on a log during the song service?

Just wondering...

...baptisms in the lake.

I really love seeing the physical signs of God's handiwork - CHANGED LIVES. A couple of weekends ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to follow up 2 full weeks of camp at WorldSong with a weekend of camp at Hargis. As campers were leaving on Friday, I wondered what I had gotten myself into... I'm worn out! There's no way I can endure camp on my OFF TIME! But I did. After driving around for 2 hours (that's a story for another day), I finally reached my destination and knew that I had a blessing in store.

This was our second year to worship at Hargis Retreat with House57 - pretty much the coolest band in the world. (I'm actually wearing their shirt now!)
Just like last year, God showed up and lives were changed. In fact, my life was changed. Here are a few highlights:

1. God's will WILL prevail. For Saturday, the youth ministers had talked with seven different organizations in an attempt to plan out a mission project for the students to do. On the Wednesday before camp, the final possibility fell through. The guys decided to add in another worship service and free time to fill up the alotted time for the nonexistent mission project. In the service, 2 students became Christians. During the free time, the students hung out with kids from Camp Braveheart - a grief camp for kids, ages 7-14, who had lost loved ones within the past year. Our mission project came to us!

2. "...I baptize you with water..." -Matthew 3:11 I got to witness four kids baptized in the lake. Breathtaking experience. I didn't get to stay the entire weekend, but I heard that there were more baptisms on the final day!

3. "Make the most of every opportunity." -Ephesians 5:15 This one will have a blog all its own. Just be patient.

4. God is real. 'Nuff said.
